The Australian Society of Miniature Art (NSW) was started in 1985. At least two exhibitions a year are held, one being the Annual Awards Exhibition which is open to all Australian artists and the others being themed exhibitions for exhibiting members held in a commercial or regional gallery.

Due to recently announced Government COVID restrictions, Ewart Gallery and the Gallery Exhibition is closed from 27 June 2021 until further notice. Watch this space for further updates to see if the exhibition period is extended after the end of the current lockdown period.
The venue is The Ewart Gallery, Willoughby Arts Centre, 33 Laurel Street, Willoughby NSW (opening hours Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm; Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3pm).

The aims of the Society are to create miniature works of excellence, to foster traditional and modern techniques and to encourage public awareness and enjoyment of miniature works of art.
Works may include a range of media such as watercolour, oil or acrylic as well as drawing, printmaking, mixed media and 3D .
New members (Exhibiting or Associate) are welcome. Intakes for Exhibiting Members occur every April and October, where artists submit six miniature works for assessment – Application Forms
